Marcia Dawood and Blake Jones discuss Kachuwa Impact Fund and co-op models in a new 30-minute episode of Marcia's "The Angel Next Door" podcast. Kachuwa Impact Fund had a great gathering in Denver last week (on Thursday, April 23) with over 20 Members who came to engage in conversation about our Co-op, hear directly from two of our investees, and chat with other Members over food and drinks.  The following day, our Board of Directors held a full-day meeting to determine strategic priorities for 2026-2027. For the second year in a row, our meetings in Denver were hosted by the good folks at Gary Community Ventures – we appreciate their support!

It was exciting to meet up for these in-person discussions, and we look forward to convening again soon with the broader Co-op at our upcoming annual meeting.  As a reminder to our Members, the annual meeting will take place via Zoom from 4:00-5:30pm Mountain Time on May 20.

Kachuwa’s Vice-President, Alicia Robb, is one of the instructors in a two-part educational program titled, “Foundations of Angel Investing: Community, Capital, Impact.” The program is designed to provide both new and experienced investors with a practical grounding in the core disciplines of angel investing — while also integrating the values and lenses that define the impact investing field.

The series emphasizes that impact-oriented capital deployment requires more than good intentions. It requires rigorous investor education, strong governance practices, and an understanding of how early-stage capital shapes the trajectories of companies and the systems in which they operate.

All sessions:  from 6:00-7:00pm ET

Part I: April 28, May 5, 12 & 19 (register here;  Kachuwa Members receive a discount)

Part II: May 26, June 2, 9, 16 & 23 (register here; Kachuwa Members receive a discount)

Showcase: June 25

Participants will move through the fundamentals of angel investing — including term sheets, valuation frameworks, due diligence processes, and long-term investor–founder relationships — while also exploring how investors can apply an impact lens to the evaluation and support of early-stage ventures.

The program is led by an experienced group of instructors from across the impact investing ecosystem, including Silvia Mah, PhD, MBA; Kristina Montague; Alicia Robb, PhD; Sue Bevan Baggott; Stephanie M. Fowler; and Jill Johnson.

The initiative is supported by a group of partner organizations working to expand and strengthen the impact investing field, including Investor’s Circle, Kachuwa Impact Fund, Angel Capital Association, Next Wave Impact, She Invests!, and Stella Foundation.
